In some case, painting is applied thickly to particular area and less paint at boundaries to avoid slop, thick paint penetrates through pile, while less paint used in boundaries doesn’t penetrate deep. When the rugs thickness is reduced, main color mutes near to color boundaries, by creating a halo effects in that segment.
